Crombie kicks off Canada’s 150th card in Mississauga

By A Staff Reporter

All Mississauga residents are being urged to be part of Canada’s 150th celebrations and make a little history at the same time by signing the city’s biggest birthday card for the upcoming festivities.

Mayor Bonnie Crombie is leading the charge.

“On behalf of the City of Mississauga and Council, we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation and our nation’s founding,” says Crombie’s birthday message.

“As we reflect on our country’s history, and look toward our hopeful future, Mississauga encompasses the very best of Canada. Mississauga is a vibrant, prosperous, diverse and thriving place so many Canadians continue to choose for a better, more promising life. Happy Birthday, Canada!”

Residents are being asked to sign one of the birthday card panels at select locations across the city.

On Canada Day, all of the panels will be joined together at Mississauga Celebration Square to create one huge card.
